L'artiste Basri Djillali , plus connu chez les mélomanes et ses fans sous le nom de Cheb Djallel , né le 26 mars 1961 à Sebdou (Tlemcen), marié et père d’un enfant, exilé en France depuis 1993, est l'un des chanteurs algériens ayant connu une ascension fulgurante au "Hit parade" de la musique algérienne moderne dans les années 80, en y imprimant sa touche personnelle par un style moderne, résultant d'un dosage réussi de la musique algéro-marocaine, largement apprécié par les jeunes mélomanes et ses fans.Ce mélange musical sur le plan rythmique a conféré au chanteur défunt une place de choix dans le milieu artistique. Le penchant de Cheb Djallel pour la musique moderne n'a a aucun moment altéré son cachet personnel, puise du patrimoine artistique traditionnel. Sa chanson intitulée "El hamam" en constitue l'exemple.

Connu par ses tubes des années 90 avec les fameux «El Hamam» et «Labas», Cheb Djallel, avec une musique puisée dans le style marocain, avait à l’époque fait vibrer les foules. Il était parmi les fidèles des studios Rachid et Fethi. Il parvint a enrichir son palmarès en enregistrant aux studio "Rachid et Fethi" de Tlemcen plusieurs tubes et a se hisser a un niveau de compétitivité, avec son propre groupe, qui lui permit de rivaliser avec ses pairs a une période ou la chanson "rai" battait son plein et faisait partout des fans. Il cherchait toujours à choisir les bonnes paroles, le rythme et la bonne musique qui attire les jeunes et il avait beaucoup surpris ses fans comme il les avait promis.

Cheb Djallel a montré, selon son entourage, dés sa prime jeunesse un intérêt pour le chant et la musique. Son engouement précoce pour le genre marocain, proximité géographique oblige, l'a même pousse a s'initier et a se familiariser avec la manipulation des instruments de musique. Il fut remarqué par le célèbre chanteur compositeur feu Rachid Baba Ahmed avec qui il noua des relations d'amitié et de travail.

Known by his hits of the 90s with the famous "El Hamam" and "Labas", Cheb Djallel, with music drawn in the Moroccan style, had at the time thrilled the crowds. Cheb Djallel showed, according to his entourage, his early youth an interest in singing and music. His early infatuation with the Moroccan genre, geographical proximity makes it necessary, has even pushed him to learn and to become familiar with the manipulation of musical instruments. He was noticed by the famous singer-songwriter, late Rachid Baba Ahmed, with whom he built friendships and work.
