Lounès Matoub (en berbère : Lwennas Meɛṭub, en tifinagh : ⵍⵡⴻⵏⵏⴰⵙ ⵎⴰⵜⵓⴱ), communément appelé Matoub Lounès, né le 24 janvier 1956 à Taourirt Moussa, Beni-Doualla (Algérie), mort assassiné le 25 juin 1998 à Thala Bounane, est un chanteur, musicien, auteur-compositeur-interprète et poète algérien d'expression kabyle.

Il a été militant de la cause identitaire amazigh en Algérie et a apporté sa contribution dans la revendication et la popularisation de la culture amazigh et du combat pour la démocratie ainsi que pour la laïcité en Algérie.

Il est reconnu comme la plus grande figure de la chanson kabyle sur tout le territoire amazigh.

Sur cette K7 il rend hommage à une autre grande figure nationaliste le président Mohamed boudiaf lui aussi mort assassiné une année avant la sortie de cette K7, précisément le 29 juin 1992 à la ville de Annaba, en tuant Boudiaf on a tué l’espoir de tout un peuple de trouver une solution à la crise politique et de ne pas sombrer dans la guerre civil. 

Matoub was reviled by most of the Muslim population in Algeria for his Laïc political and atheist views and the alleged blasphemy of some songs (like Allahu Akbar) along with his militant advocacy of Berber rights, so he was unpopular among both warring parties during the Algerian Civil War. His assassination, in circumstances which remain unclear, provoked violent riots in Kabylie. Berber Algerians still accuse the Algerian government of killing Matoub Lounès, but some of the Algerian government's figures accused the Islamist terrorists of this crime.

In This K7 he pay a tribute to another nationalist leader the president Mohamed Boudiaf who was killed a year before the K7 came out, in juin 29,1992 Boudiaf was killed in Annaba during a metting, with this murder they killed the hope of a hole nation who still believe in political solution and avoid the civil war sadly that doesn’t happened and Algeria live one of his crucial and cruel events of her history.
